What is the definition of a ball valve?

Author:Site Editor     Publish Time: 2018-11-16      Origin:Site

The Industrial ball valve, the opening and closing part(sphere) is driven by the valve stem and rotates around the axis of the ball valve. It can also be used for fluid regulation and control. The hard-sealed V-ball valve has a strong shear force between the V-shaped core and the metal seat of the hard-welded carbide alloy. It is especially suitable for fiber-containing, micro-solid particles. Etc.

The types  of ball valves

Ball valves are divided into: floating ball valve, trunnion mounted ball valve, track ball valve, V ball valve, three-way ball valve, stainless steel ball valve, cast steel ball valve, forged steel ball valve, ash ball valve, anti-sulfur ball valve, pneumatic ball valve, electric ball valve, ferrule ball valve, fully welded ball valve.

The multi-way ball valve not only can flexibly control the confluence, splitting, and flow direction switching of the medium, but also can close any channel and connect the other two channels. This type of valve should generally be installed horizontally in the pipeline. Ball valves are classified according to the driving method: pneumatic ball valve, electric ball valve, manual ball valve.

The ball valve is mainly used in the pipeline to cut, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium. It only needs to be rotated 90 degrees and the torque can be closed tightly. The ball valve is most suitable for use as a switch and shut-off valve, V-type ball valve. In addition to paying attention to the pipeline parameters, electric valves should pay special attention to the environmental conditions used. Since the electric device in the electric valve is an electromechanical device, its use state is greatly affected by its use environment. Under normal conditions, electric ball valves and butterfly valves should be used with special care in the following environments.

The sealing is good, but the load of the ball to the working medium is transmitted to the outlet sealing ring. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether the sealing material can withstand the working load of the spherical medium. When subjected to high pressure impact, the sphere may be offset. . This structure is generally used for medium and low pressure ball valves. The ball of the ball valve is fixed and does not move after being pressed. The fixed ball valve has a floating valve seat. After the medium pressure, the valve seat moves, so that the sealing ring is pressed against the ball to ensure the seal. Usually mounted on the upper and lower shafts of the ball, the operating torque is small, suitable for high pressure and large diameter valves. In order to reduce the operating torque of the ball valve and increase the reliability of the seal, an oil seal ball valve has appeared, which injects a special lubricating oil between the sealing faces to form an oil film, which enhances the sealing performance and reduces the operating torque. Suitable for high pressure and large diameter ball valves.

The ball of the ball valve is elastic. Both the ball and the seat ring are made of metal material, and the sealing pressure is very large. The pressure of the medium itself cannot meet the sealing requirements, and an external force must be applied. This valve is suitable for high temperature and high pressure media. The elastic sphere is made by opening an elastic groove at the lower end of the inner wall of the sphere to obtain elasticity. When the passage is closed, the wedge of the valve stem is used to open the ball and press against the seat to seal. Before the ball is rotated, the wedge head is loosened, and the ball is restored to its original shape, so that a small gap occurs between the ball and the valve seat, which can reduce the friction and operating torque of the sealing surface.
